GPS Roadmap

“Your feelings are an emotional roadmap that guide you through the various paths of your life. Think about what a GPS does. It tells you what to do, where to go and how long it will take you to get there. If you turn left when you should turn right, it alerts you that something is wrong. It even tells you to turn around, to do something differently. You get an indication that change needs to happen and you need to redirect your route to get to where you need to go.
And what happens when you don’t listen to a GPS? You get lost. You feel stuck.
When you follow the GPS, you have a clear, well-defined path. When you listen to what it says and respond accordingly, you get to the desired end point with less effort.
Think of your emotions in the same way. Whether you’re sad, angry, guilty or afraid, each of those tells you how to respond to different situations in life, so honor those feelings. They’re valid.
If you’re struggling to identify your pain and feel aimless and confused, I want to help you connect the identities between your faith and emotional health. Sometimes our past experiences have been invalidated, and we struggle to get in touch with our reality. If you’re looking for a starting point for putting the pieces back together,” watch this from Dr. Henry Cloud.
