So That’s What You Think of Me
Perceptions of others are revealed by our thoughts and words
Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris. She worked hard as an maid from England to get to Paris to buy a dress. When she saw Mr. Dior, she said, “He looks just like my milkman.” He did not hear her. The man beside her did.
He had helped her enter the Christian Dior complex. When he showed her some pictures of him as a child, he pointed out his nanny. “That’s who you remind me of.”
“So that’s what you think of me?” she responded.
She walked out.
The truth hurts but it helps — especially when perceptions do not match reality.
