MORNING DEVOTIONS

Endure and Enjoy

“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:12–13, ESV)

Obedience is how we demonstrate love for Jesus. We are not working for our salvation. God has already done that. (See Ephesians 2:8–10). Working out our salvation is exercise! God gives meaningful work to do in and through us.

So practice surrender by being branches connected to the Vine, producing fruit. Use it or lose it. Use the power within you and enjoy the workout.
