Pruning the bushes
Cutting back the growth
That hurts and may look and feel bad at first.

Then the blooms burst.
One reason for pruning means bigger and better fruit or flowers.

Another reason why, not just for beauty, is prevention.
Pay attention to the dead branches.
Cut them off — they’re useless.

Finally, the third reason may be obvious, too.
They are sick or diseased.
Don’t let whatever it is spread to healthy branches proceed.

Those three reasons — beautify, remove dead and diseased
Just like that!
Do the same to your writing, please.

Gardening tips, writing tips, relationships:
Take the shears, sharpen the saw,
Keep the best and throw the rest.
